Government Wasted Money

 God Bless You

Toward the end of 2016, Senator James Lankford (R-OK) released a report called 'Federal Fumbles.' Lankford grabbed the baton that Tom Coburn had carried for years. Coburn exposed government waste in his renowned "Wastebook" chronicles.

'God bless you' is a phrase Americans utter after someone had sneezed and then they go on about their business. The Federal Government, however, took sneezing to a new level. In 2016, the Feds subsidized a study pertaining to why children do not like to eat food that has been sneezed on. This study cost the taxpayers $2 million.

When government employees are sent on administrative leave, most Americans think that this is a punishment. The employees see it very differently. In fact, they pray that it will happen to them. Why? They receive vacation pay while they are banned from their job. In 2015 and 2016, $3.1 billion was given to these folks under investigation. The government wasted money better than anyone.

 For The Birds

The California gnatcatcher bird costs taxpayers $283,500 in 2016. The Department of Defense allotted the cash to study the gnatcatchers arch enemy – cowbirds. Cowbirds often steal the nests of the gnatcatchers and put their eggs there. The gnatcatchers become the baby-daddy to the cowbird babies. Clearly, the DOD felt obligated to protect American lives by bird watching.

Does politics leave you frustrated or angry? Well, there is a study for that. $150,000 was handed out from the National Science Foundation to find answers to this blatantly obvious quest. Ironically, this quote was in the reported results, “One could argue that the most stressful thing about politics is the waste and bloat of government spending, especially researching topics such as this.”

The government wasted money again when the National Park Science was asked to answer something that all Americans want to know: What do bugs do when they are near a light bulb? Seriously, you couldn't make this up if you had 100 years to do so. $65,473 was spent on this burning study.

 The Chicken Or The Egg

Another example where the government wasted money with the National Science Foundation is when they wanted to know if the mainstream media characters caused angst and polarization, or if the citizenry dictates what the media will report. $406,419 was given to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study this conundrum.

Who doesn't like a good fish story? Again, the National Science Foundation wanted to put to rest a long exercised query: What would a mudskipper fish do if it was placed on a treadmill? $1.5 million was spent for this fish tale.

The National Eye Institute (yes, it exists) allotted $300,000 to determine whether girls or boys play with Barbie dolls more. This is it, folks, you can die at ease knowing that they found that it is the females that play with Barbies significantly more than boys.

 More Government Wasted Money

$1 billion was given to the Palestinians.

$500,000 on texting people to encourage them to quit smoking.

$315,000 studying how court rulings affect people's feelings.

$500,000 went to study sight, sounds, smell, and the tastes of the medieval period.

$200 million for upgrading a mid-American airport that has just one airline.

Ridiculous Government Wasted Money

The U.S. government has an incredible zest to create innovative ways and means to spend taxpayer dollars – your dollars. Today we will wade through the murky waters of the monumental wasteful machinations our political leaders devise for our supposed betterment. The number of ridiculous government wasted dollars examples are uncountable, but below are some doozies.
Bird Watching, Paid Administrative Leave, Paying The NFL
Your taxpayer dollars went to an inspirational cause – bird watching. The Department of Defense (DOD) received $283,500 to monitor the daily life of the Gnatcatcher. This Californian bird is on the endangered species list and they take on enemy fire from the Cowbird. The DOD staunchly observes the assaults and reports back to headquarters.
In a two-year period, $3.1 billion was allotted to Federal employees who were placed on administrative leave. When several employees of the Drug Enforcement Agency were exposed for soliciting prostitutes, they were suspended. Not only were they paid in their absence, they all received a scheduled pay increase.
The government has paid the NFL and other professional sports organizations $10 million to boost recruitment and honor Veterans. On the payroll were NASCAR, the NBA, NHL, MLS, MLB, and several colleges. So far, no professional athletes have given up their career to fight for their country. Need more ridiculous government wasted money examples? Certainly, there are plenty.

Welfare For The Rich, Exercising Monkeys
Welfare for the wealthy sounds uncommonly ridiculous, but yes, it is happening. Federal, state and local government agencies dolled out over $100 million to at least 48 corporations. GM nailed Americans for $1.7 billion. Boeing, Amazon, Prudential, and Coloradan casino owners were awarded over $200 million each.
Still not shocked? Well, how about $1 million to put monkeys on a NordicTrak treadmill. Then there is the program that spent $5 million on the ultimate tailgate parties. $1.2 million went to the a study of the effect of microgravity on sheep. $448 taxpayer dollars went to pay the rent for squatters.
Want To Vacation In Lebanon?
The Federal Government issued this warning to Americans, “Avoid all travel to Lebanon because of ongoing safety and security concerns.” Yet, the United States for International Development spent $2 million promoting American tourism in Lebanon.

$1.3 million was awarded to the University of Washington (UW) from the National Science Foundation. Their dream was to unveil the mystery that haunts us all; how exactly does a “Koozie” keep a can of beer cold. The discovery was spellbinding. UW professor Dale Durran revealed amazing findings, “Probably the most important thing a beer Koozie does is not simply insulate the can, but keep condensation from forming on the outside of the can.”
Hold your breath, he also issued a warning to the non-Koozie folks, “Do NOT just wipe off the drops (of condensation) off the can, that will only make your drink even warmer."
Sadly, there are hundreds if not thousands of more examples of ridiculous government wasted tax dollars.

U.S. Pays $300,000 Per Day Removing Illegals

President Obama irrefutably spurns to protect Americans by allowing nearly anyone who chooses to cross the American/Mexican border to enter the country unfettered. Approximately half of the illegals crossing are of Mexican origin and the remainder are from over 190 other nations. Unknown Syrians refugees are welcomed with open arms.
Border patrol has been ordered to stand down for the most part. However, some of them have said that they have stopped people from Iran, Syria, India, Somalia, Yemen, and a wide array of wayward countries.
The U.S. is deporting approximately 50% less illegal aliens than in 2008. It is stunning to learn just how much America coddles these law-breakers. Some of them have intentions of killing U.S. citizens and some want to poison the children with drugs.

The few that are deported are often flown back to their home countries in private jets. Some illegals are forced to fly in commercial airliners that seat over 250 people, but it is filled by just one deportee. They are gracefully returned to their home country instead of tossing them out at the point of entry.
The average cost to cordially remove these invaders is $300,000 per day, every day. Many are flown overseas on hired private jets and they enjoy the ride in the lap of luxury. Most will find their way back into the U.S. and that will not be held against them.

In 2015, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) gobbled up $116 million returning illegal invaders to their homeland. At least 40% of people that had overstayed their visa were convicted criminals. Apparently, this is insignificant to the Obama Administration.
1,000 of that 40% were known be involved in organized crime or gang members. Insignificant. ICE paid for a 767-300 airliner to fly one man back to Nigeria. Insignificant. ICE hired Gulfstream IV executive jets for what are referred to as “high-risk” detainee's on at least 34 occasions.
The average cost to coddle these criminals and safely return them to their part of the planet is $12,213. Insignificant. This expenditure for each offender involves the cost of identifying the illegal – when possible – the arrest, the cost of detaining them, and the eventual exportation.
As the national debt encroaches $20 TRILLION, this wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars is insignificant not only to this illegal immigrant-loving Administration, but also republican congressman and senators. We The People will simply have to accept their esoteric way of business as usual.
